Mariama, on the left. Her father was killed by rebels. Her mother ran away in the bush and was never seen again and is presumed dead. Mariama has a sweet, quiet spirit and is very diligent with her school work. She currently works after school as a nanny to the Nelson twins.
Salma on the right. She was orphaned after repeated violent attacks on her village. She currently works in the DOVE office after school. Her dream is to continue her education overseas. Salma is 18. |
