Shopping List
Progress continues with Dove’s building program. Many people are asking us what we need right now so we have compiled a list. If you have any questions or comments, please contact Judy at office@internationaldove.com:
$$ for feeding budget for the children once they move in to the home. Boxes of shoes and clothing have been donated by the British military and should be arriving next month from Ireland!
Tables and chairs for the dining room/school room. It will be shared until one day when we can build a school. School supplies have been donated by families of the British military in the UK and will be arriving next month.
Mosquito nets for the children’s home - 30 of them. They cost about $10 US each.
Pillows for the children’s home - 30 of them. Handmade quilts have been donated by the Oldridge family of Didsbury
Sheets and towels for 30. Available here second hand, costs vary. Some have been donated by the Doulos Ship
15KVA Generator ($8,500 US) to give lights to children’s home, staff houses and office.
Fuel fund to run the above generator. Diesel is $6/gal CDN
Stove and fridge for staff house - about $1800 CDN
Lap top Computer to replace our ailing one - about $3,000 CDN
Then the big items: Continued funds to match a grant of $11,000 for the washroom complex for the children
Funds to build Dove Admin Head Office Sierra Leone - badly needed!!! (cost approximately $15,000USD)
Funds to build staff house/apartments #2 for our expat staff (approx $35,000USD) it is still at foundation stage
Funds to build Children’s Home #2 (approx $25,000USD)
Funds to build the school (cost estimate not available yet)
Funds to build a recreation complex for the children, under a roof so it can be used in rainy season (cost estimate not available yet). Playground has been designed by the British military and will be erected by the HMS Glasgow Nov/03
