International Dove has some job postings that need to be filled immediately. Check them out and see if you know anyone that fits the bill! Not included below but also needed is a teacher for Social Studies and Science using the Alpha Omega homeschooling program. You would have 20 students at different levels from grade 3 to grade 6. We are also looking for a minimum 6 month commitment for this position. You must raise your own support.
These two positions need to be filled immediately by mature people well experienced in cross cultural living. (We have other support positions available for college students or those with less/no experience.)
They must be flexible, in excellent health and able to work unsupervised. Our compound is 12 rugged acres on the side of a mountain so obesity could cause serious health problems. These two positions will be in direct support to Phil and Judy and the work of Dove. We are asking for a minimum 6 month commitment. You must be self-supporting.
Yard Supervisor
This could be filled by a married couple or a single male. Because of cultural sensitivities a single woman can not be considered for this role.
Duties Include: Supervising workers in Dove’s plantation containing all manner of fruits and vegetables. Overseeing landscaping of the Dove compound. You would work alongside the national workers as well as advise and direct work making stone pathways throughout the compound and setting up an irrigation system for the plantation. All projects and funding must be approved by the Executive Director. Experience in tropical plants and climate is a definite must. You must have strong leadership qualities to be able to do this job well. Flexibility would include teaching classes in landscaping to the Dove children. You may have younger, less experienced volunteers working under you. You may be asked to help supervise construction workers of various building projects will be shared with position number 2 below so experience in basic construction is also an asset.
Mechanical Engineer and Maintenance
This could be filled by a married couple or a single male. Because of cultural sensitivities a single woman can not be considered for this role.
. Maintenance of Dove vehicles is a constant task. You need to be familiar with 4wheel drives, particularly Toyota. You would be responsible for care and maintenance of generators, both gasoline and diesel. Experience in welding a definite must. You would be responsible for building repairs and would share responsibility for construction projects with Yard Supervisor (windows and doors are welded metal). At times you would have younger, less experienced volunteers working under you and you. Flexibility would include teaching basic mechanical classes to Dove children. All funding and projects must be approved by the Executive Director.

It’s our BIRTHDAY!!! Dove is almost 8 years old! As we look back over the years since our inception, we see many changes, frustrations, met goals, joys and best of all - our kids are growing up and are doing great. It is time to begin PHASE 2 of our Goals and Objectives. Phase One involved the initial set up and beginning of Dove’s Village of Hope for Children. Phase 2 is all about maintaining our Village of Hope and sending the kids on to the next level of their education.
What does this mean? It means we need dedicated staff, both short term and long term commitments. Teaching staff is critical. Building staff is critical. Nursing staff is critical. Sponsorship is critical. Maintenance staff is critical. Gardening/Landscaping staff is critical. We need YOU. Can you raise $575 a month plus travel costs? Come join us! Thank you to Lakes Community Church for their donation toward our compound wall!!! They held a Dessert Night and donated the proceeds toward making Dove’s Village of Hope a safer place for the kids to live!
